player,was dying of AIDS which he got due to Infected Blood he received during a Heart Surgery in 1983.
letters received From all over the World over, he received letters from his Fans, one of which asked:
Why did GOD select you for such a Bad Disease?
To this Arthur replied:
"From world over, 5 Crore children start playing Tennis,
50 Lakhs learn to play Tennis,50 Thousand come to the Circuit,
5 Thousand reach the Grand Slam,
50 reached Wimbledon,
4 to Semi Final,
2 to Final,
And only 1 wins.
I was that only ONE.
When I was holding the Cup, I never asked GOD:
"Why me?"
